was born on 1/16/2002 at 10:52pm. 7lbs, 7oz. 19.5 inches. Baby pictures!
The scrapbook is a section of poems, tidbits, and writings. I'm not sure what all is going in here but hopefully it will be interesting. If you wish to add something, just send one of us e-mail.
Well not yet, but to help with the transition we will be calling people from the hospital to let them know that the baby has arrived. The hospital has an online nursery that has pictures within a day or two, far sooner than we will get around to it.
Everything is okay. My blood pressure has been going up and I am showing signs of preeclampcia. The doctor is concerned about low fluid in the amniotic sac. The technician couldn't tell me anything about the fluid levels, I will have to wait till my next appointment. If there is a problem with the ultrasound, blood work or urine test, labor will be induced. The doctor has already said that he doesn't expect me to go past two weeks from Monday (1/7/02). We will see.
The technician did tell me that the baby is 6 pounds with a +/-20% error. This is good news because if the baby was born tonight she would have enough weight to be okay. The technician also confirmed the baby's gender. We have new pictures which will be posted in a few days.
Starting November we are taking Lamaze classes, Infant Care classes, Breastfeeding (Ed goes to see all the breasts but that is probably why most of the men are there.), and we hope to slip in Infant CPR before the due date.
The nursery is about ready. All the needed furniture is there and we have a small amount of consumables. We will be stocking between now and when the baby arrives. It looks like the baby could come home tomorrow. We are working on a 360 degree of the room which should be posted in a few days.
Our friends threw us a baby shower. Special thanks to Beth and Sheryl for hosting it. We had a great time. It was a coed shower and the guys had just as much fun as the gals. Thanks to all of our friends for the gifts and good wishes.
Nothing but good news. The ultrasound itself was very extensive and led to a lot of data.
With help from grandparents the nursery is decorated, furnished and setup.
What can I say, other than, "Oh my."
My apologies in advance for the poor quality of the recording. Those
little dopler listening devices aren't that great in the first place, and
I got the recording by holding up a microcassette recorder up to its
speaker. And, of course, I didn't realize until we got home that I didn't
have it on the right speed setting either. Fortunately I found a double ended
headphone-type plug to digitize it, so it could have been worse. :)
